Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFL) Week is held each year in September. The purpose of this week is to raise public awareness of adult education and family literacy, assist adult learners in need of literacy services, leverage local resources, and support increased access to adult education and family literacy programs.
In 2014, Adult Education and Family Literacy Week will be celebrated from Sept. 22-26. Academy of Hope, together with various local and regional partners, will be hosting three events in D.C.
Kick-Off event: “Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act: Understanding what WIOA means for DC”
Join us on Monday, Sept. 22 from 9:00-10:30 am for a panel discussion on WIOA! Further information regarding panelists will be posted soon.

D.C. law makers and elected officials need to hear about the importance of adult education and how to support it. Come join us for a panel discussion, followed by meetings with Councilmembers and their staff.
